Mohican Trail in East Windham, this area is
maintained by New York State, with views of the
Hudson River Valley and five states. |

Hudson-Athens Lighthouse - Built in
1874, this lighthouse is an architectural gem
built in the Second Empire style. You may view
the lighthouse from Riverfront Park or tour the
facility from July through October. While you
are there, take an Athens village walking tour.
Incorporated in 1805, this historic village
boasts a unique historical glimpse of American
architecture over 3 centuries. |

Mountain Top Arboretum - The
Mountain Top Arboretum is a living museum of
native trees, shrubs, and flowers 2500 feet
above sea level in the peaks of the Catskill
Mountains. Serving as a preserve and a garden,
the arboretum is an educational and recreational
treasure where visitors can smell the flowers,
stroll the walkways, take in scenic views, and
take guided tours to learn about Catskill
horticulture. The Mountain Top Arboretum is open
to everyone, a unique museum with exhibits that
change every season. |

Saugerties Lighthouse and Trail -
A few miles away in the town of Saugerties, the
first lighthouse at the mouth of Esopus Creek
was built in 1838. Now it is a bed & breakfast
offering tours on weekends and holidays. The
lighthouse features a nature trail that passes
through a wooded tidal swamp and emerges on to
the sandy north beach, exposing visitors to the
diverse habitat of the Hudson River. The
lighthouse also features a museum chronicling
its first days. |

New York Zipline Adventures at Hunter Mountain
- The longest and highest zipline in North
America features over 5 miles of zipline,
offering 3 separate tours. |

Bailiwick Ranch & Discovery Zoo -
Located in Catskill, this facility offers three
attractions in one: Horseback riding on scenic
mountain trails (along with pony rides for the
young ones), a Zoological Park with an
assortment of exotic and farm animals (including

tours, and educational programs), and a Paint
Ball Park (with masks, suits, and guns

Round Top Raptor Center - This facility
is within walking distance of the campground, on
Bald Hill Road. Open from Memorial Day through
Labor Day, see and enjoy the sights and sounds
of falcons and hawks, and meet Master Falconer,
Gino Altimari. |

Junior Speedway - Family fun at a great
price on Route 32, in Cairo. All new go-karts, a
mini-Indy track for ages 4-7, mini-golf,
carnival rides, water wars, bumper boats, a
snack bar, and a gift shop are all available. |

Bronck Museum - This is a complex of
Dutch Colonial dwellings and 19th century barns
located on County Route 42, in Coxsackie.
The oldest house is from 1663, and there is a
13-sided barn with a collection of horse-drawn
vehicles. |

Four Mile Point - A 7.6-acre
riverfront preserve, offering a picturesque
shoreline, tranquil inland pond, and a 60-foot
knoll that provides dramatic vistas. The
preserve once housed an icehouse during the
height of the historic ice industry along the
Hudson River. The property was purchased and
turned into a public park in 1992 by The Scenic
Hudson Land Trust, the Town of Coxsackie and the
Greene County Soil and Water Conservation
District. A nature trail leads to an overlook of
the Hudson River. Also offers a wetland wildlife
viewing platform, and canoe and kayak access to
the river. |

The Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum
- The Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum is
a nonprofit, educational organization dedicated
to preserving America’s fly fishing heritage,
teaching its future generations of fly fishing
anglers, and protecting its fly fishing
environment. It features a museum, an education
center and - in the near future - an
environmental research center. |

Blackhead Mountain Lodge and Country Club - The golf course at Blackhead Mountain was designed by USGA architect Nicholas Psiahas. The original 9 holes were opened in 1990, and a second 9 holes were added in 1999. It is by far one of the most outstanding 18 hole, par 72 championship courses in the Northeast. |

Windham Country Club - Scenic and
challenging, Windham Country Club is an 18-hole
public course located in the Northern Catskill
Mountains. The course offers open fairways,
spacious greens landscaped with flowerbeds and
native trees, and sweeping views of the
mountains. Amenities include a driving range, a
fully-stocked pro shop, an elegant restaurant,
restrooms, and a clubhouse. The best times to
golf are weekdays after noon. (Check
